He moved to the Holyoke area to be closer to this “retreat” and start a new career as President and owner of Sarawood Assisted Living in Holyoke. It was then he met his late wife Marjorie. She was his partner in life and in business. Together, they managed Sarawood Assisted Living, giving comfort and support to the residents. He is survived by his brother Robert P. Lyons and his wife Kathleen of York, PA., and John W. Lyons and his wife Frances of Newbury N.H., niece Kathleen Labonville of Sutton, New Hampshire, nephews John H. Lyons of Merrimack, N.H., Robert W. Lyons of Burke, Virginia, Mark Lyons of Lake City Florida, and Leslie Lyons of Eugene, Oregon.
